[Full text is found in the Church By-Laws] Organization The Board of Deacons consists of twelve men and women who are members of the Church. Meetings shall be held no less frequently than every three months. The members are elected for a term of three years in such manner that the term of four members shall terminate each year. An elected member of the Board whose term has expired is ineligible for one year for re-election to the Board. The Board of Deacons annually elects by simple majority vote a Chairperson from among its members. Major Responsibilities It is the responsibility of the Board of Deacons to visualize and implement the spiritual program of the Church in cooperation with the Senior Minister. The board shall also administer the sacrament of Holy Communion. The Board of Deacons is also responsible for the supervision and functioning of the following Boards and Committees: Board of Youth and Adult Education, Board of Missions, Partnership Committees, Board of Music and the Arts.
